Check Out “How Things Work at the Ohio Statehouse”!
Rachel Coyle currently manages “How Things Work at the Ohio Statehouse” (https://www.facebook.com/groups/howthingsworkoh), a Facebook site that currently boasts 7,552 members! Rachel and Bethany Sanders, who have worked for the Democrats in the Ohio Senate, created the site in early 2017 as a voluntary act of love to share what they’ve learned about how to:
-follow what’s going on in the Ohio Statehouse;
-advocate for important liberal and progressive policies;
-read and research legislative policy; and
-navigate being in the legislative minority.
For Indivisible members, this site is an invaluable resource for keeping abreast of happenings at the Ohio Statehouse and getting in-depth analyses of bills being considered. It also offers a forum for questions, information about Ohio government, a listing of upcoming events, tips on how to impact state legislators, legislator contact information, and many useful documents to help us advocate for or against important bills (see https://www.facebook.com/groups/1202571436523926/files).
Here’s a sample of the sort of information you will find on the site:
“Should the bystanders who told #DerekChauvin to get off #GeorgeFloyd's neck have been arrested?
