Chasing Down Carey
The Cap City Marathon runs through Schiller Park on Saturday, directly across the street from Congressman Mike Carey’s house. Carey is running away from his constituents even faster than the marathoners are running for the finish line. He is supporting budget cuts that will destroy thousands of Ohio jobs and that will devastate government services like social security, Medicard, and veterans’ benefits.
We’ll gather at the park to demand that Carey Stop the Cuts. Bring your signs and your voices. Let’s show Mike Carey that we won’t be silenced. He can run, but we aren’t going away.
We will meet at the entrance to Schiller Park on City Park Avenue.

Town Hall with Invited "Representative" Troy Balderson
Balderson needs to face our community!
We need to hold Balderson accountable for bowing down to Trump, Musk, and their billionaire friends at the expense of the American people. "Representatives" like Balderson are the ones rolling out the red carpet to authoritarianism. We need to let them know we see their actions, and we will not stand by. We must spotlight their refusal to fulfill their duty to the very people who elected them. We may have a few special guests joining us!
You **must** REGISTER USING THIS LINK and we will send you the location of this event 24 hours before.

Privacy In Peril - Unveiling the Roots, Erosion, and How to Protect Your Civil Rights
Come join us at The Siposium where we laugh, play, and learn together through experts. Grab a drink, join our topical trivia round, and then sit back to hear our expert share their knowledge in our intimate gathering. Audience interaction and questions are encouraged as we all grow in our understandings together.
This month we learn the roots of the right to privacy in the United States, how the roots have eroded, what remains of your rights, and what you can do about it. Acquire confidence and knowledge about your rights in order to help yourself and those close to you navigate a hazardous privacy landscape. Become an involved and informed conversation leader on the importance of civil rights. Decode strategies used to convince people to give up their rights and peek behind the curtain of the justice system to understand the competing interests that exert an eternal tug-of-war on the civil liberties that keep all of us safe.
Speaker Bio: Ben Tracy is a former civil rights attorney, a former senior judicial attorney to the Ohio Supreme Court, and is currently an appellate prosecutor and local politician. He is well into his second decade litigating civil rights and constitutional law topics and holds degrees from Exeter, Brown University, and the University of Virginia School of Law.

“Join us on the two-year anniversary of Project 2025’s launch for can’t-miss conversations with two of our favorite BADASS women—historian Heather Cox Richardson and Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett. This moment isn’t just about understanding the threat—it’s about how we fight back with everything we’ve got.
Project 2025 is no longer just a radical plan on paper. Its ideas are already surfacing in Trump’s policies and shaping the agenda of extremist lawmakers. This event will break down exactly how Project 2025 is being implemented—and more importantly, what you can do about it.
Learn about our new first-of-its kind tracking tool to help you keep up with how Project 2025 is being implemented and how it is impacting your family and your community. It's time to get loud and spread the word. We will fight back: together!”

Pramila Jayapal's Resistance Lab: Virtual Organizing Training 101
Interested in hosting an organizing training with your friends and family on April 13? We'll show you how! Simply fill out this form: https://forms.gle/b1PTK6SKhz8dVnzs6. Once submitted, a member of our team will reach out with all the tools and resources you need to host a successful training.
Registration Link: https://www.mobilize.us/pramilaforcongress/event/771833/
This session will cover our Resistance Lab 101 curriculum. If you missed the first session, this is for you!
The Resistance Lab is a series of trainings that are developed specifically for this moment. In this first lab, we look at how non-violent movements around the world have responded to leaders who seize power in authoritarian ways and the most effective tools and tactics to utilize in these moments. We offer frameworks to understand this moment at home, and incorporate interactive conversation with others to help create community and build our resistance movement.
The Resistance Lab was developed with experts who have researched and studied democratic backsliding around the world as well as in the United States and the non-violent movements that have emerged to challenge those authoritarian leaders. We also draw from many toolkits for effective tactics and frameworks as well as from Pramila’s own background leading successful organizing movements for economic and social justice for two decades.
Our goals are to help people understand how democracies fall and the most effective resistance movements that have challenged authoritarians and dictators; to turn anger, fear and frustration into action in the short-term while also preparing for a coordinated resistance movement for the longer term; and to build community across the country that can help grow our movement. At the end of the day, we want to get people strike-ready and street-ready and make sure we protect our people, our freedoms and our democracy.
With Trump and his MAGA billionaires doubling down on their attacks on the economic livelihoods of people to thrive and on our democracy, we can’t afford to sit this moment out. This is about building real power together. And it starts with you.
RSVP today to secure your spot! You’ll receive the virtual event link closer to the date.

They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now.
🚨 On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets to fight back with a clear message: Hands off! 🚨
📍 Where: Hayes Stateue at the Corner of Sandusky and Williams 📅 When: 12-1pm April 5, 2025
This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.
A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
