Sign up HERE. (Park in the neighborhood near 7735 Deercreek Dr., Worthington 43085 or on the other side of the bridge at the Metro Parks Headquarters at 1069 W Main St., Westerville 43081.)

This week’s Actions!

1. Urgent SAVE ACT: Submit Your Comment by October 20th
The Trump-aligned movement is attempting to bypass the Senate to push through the SAVE Act's requirements, a nationwide voter suppression effort that would require voters to submit proof of citizenship in order to register to vote. They are using the Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to do it quietly and quickly.

We’ve seen policies like this restrict the freedom to vote before in states like Kansas, where tens of thousands of eligible American citizens were blocked from registering to vote simply because they didn’t have a passport or a birth certificate that matched their married name. Implementing this policy across the country would be devastating for our democracy.

Good government groups such as Common Cause, LWV, ACLU and more are looking to get 200,000 people to submit public comments opposing this change by the deadline, October 20.

Submit your comment directly HERE.

Suggested text:
I’m against requiring citizens to submit a passport, birth certificate, or other citizenship documents to register to vote! Only half of American citizens have a passport and 69 million American citizens don’t have a birth certificate with their current legal name on it, most of them women who changed their names when they got married.

2. EMAIL your GOP senators
Demand a bipartisan spending deal and remind them they own this TRUMP SHUTDOWN! Republicans are still rejecting a common-sense deal to end the shutdown and reverse MAGA healthcare cuts. Let’s stay loud to show our resolve and remind the GOP it’s on them to reopen the government. Send an email quickly HERE.

Signs of Fascism Making Waves

Our Signs of Fascism have appeared at several locations in central Ohio recently, and more events are scheduled. A video of the signs at an event posted to the Westerville Progressive Alliance’s public Facebook page has gone viral: as of yesterday morning it had 56K likes, 99K shares, and 7.2M views! Plus it’s surging on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Wow! Congrats to the organizers!

Requests for info about the signs and a copy of the files have come in from ALL over, including but not limited to the following: Elk Rapids, MI; Portland, OR; Birmingham, AL; Cincinnati, OH; Key West, FL; Sacramento, CA; Sausalito, CA; Myrtle Beach, SC; Appleton, WI; Norwich, CT; Seattle, WA; Enid, OK; Scottsdale, AZ; Boulder, CO; Waverly, OH; New Jersey; New Mexico; Massachusetts; Nevada and Germany!

Please watch and share this amazing 47-second video of the signs in action, spliced in with photographs that show examples from our current reality. It’s really good!

  • To take part in a specific action, sign up HERE

Candidate Cards on the Porch!
You can pick up cards for the following candidates from the porch at 437 Piedmont Rd:

  • Hilary Damaser for Washington Township Trustee. She works as an Assistant Attorney General and has represented the Ohio Fire Marshal for the past 24 years. She would be only the second woman to ever serve as a trustee.

  • Tiffany DeSilva for re-election to Dublin School Board. As the only incumbent running, her experience will be a great asset as we elect two new additional members to the board.

  • Possibly others? It’s a last minute rush.

Remember: If you have postcards checked out, make sure to get them back by the upcoming deadlines!
