No Kings in Central Ohio!
Central Ohio pulled out all the stops this past Saturday and sent an unambiguous message to Donald Trump: We aren’t having it!
No Kings protests across the entire region drew record turnouts. Just take a look at these incredible numbers!
If you missed the fun, take a look at these wonderful photos & videos:
Open album for the Statehouse (there may be some photos from other central Ohio events mixed in)
Highlight video for the region (don't miss this!)
You can also find video clips of each speaker on our YouTube channel
We are so grateful to John and Mishka Griffin for their video work, and to Paul Becker, Julian Halliday, Robert Ohrstedt, Nick Baldasare and many other photographers pitching in!
Congrats and appreciation to all the organizers across the region – from Springfield to Newark and everywhere in between. It was great to work together and plan events so that we could all come together for a “big one” late in the day. Thanks also to the people who spread the word via social media, the people who made amazing signs, and to those who made an effort to bring their friends!
Thanks to the speakers, the singers, the music makers, and all the volunteers. AND a special thanks of course to every single person who came out! Your energy and enthusiasm (peacefulness and determination) made it a perfect day.
Special shout out to Meredith Benson, Greg Phelps, Michelle Lerner and the whole team that put together the No Kings Car Caravan. Their visits to the Hilliard, Clintonville, Grandview, German Village and Statehouse rallies brought a special mixture of raucous excitement, whimsy and gumption! Thank you!
Support your Community
At the Statehouse rally, Kari Hicks from 50501 talked about the importance of getting involved with and supporting your local community. Caring for others is resistance! Here are some links we sent out after the event for folks to continue to get involved:

Where’s the Map?
On October 21, a full 3 weeks after they should have begun their work (well, they really should have started back in 2021), the Ohio Redistricting Commission held what can only be called a hearing in name only. The commissioners took their oaths of office – swearing to uphold the US and Ohio Constitutions, “So help them God” – and then some of them promptly set out to violate the oath asap. No new map was produced or discussed, no rules of order were adopted, and no further hearing was scheduled. The meeting was quickly adjourned amidst raucous boos and shouts of “Shame!” and “Do your job!” from the folks in purple “Where is the Map?” shirts.
Want to join in on the “Where is the Map?” crew? We’d love to have you! Sign up HERE.
After the amazing No Kings protests this past weekend, everyone wants to know “How do we grow from here?” One way is to literally spread the word by planting powerful yard signs all across our neighborhoods and the region. People need to know what we stand for – and what we are determined to fight against.
Below, we are sharing info about TWO ENTIRELY SEPARATE YARD SIGN PROJECTS. The first is headed up by a small team from Indivisible Central Ohio. They have designed fabulous signs and a whole program that is really worth your attention. The other signs are shared with us from further afield. Please read about them both below.
1. Order Resistance Yard Signs Now
Show your neighbors and friends where you stand! Start conversations. Build a highly visible, unified resistance and stand up against minority rule and authoritarianism. Order signs for your yard, windows, or to use at rallies. There are 3 options to choose from.
We’d be grateful if you’re able to submit your order before this Friday at 5pm. This will help us get a good idea of how many to order. There will likely be extras, though we’d like to collect as much interest as possible this week, so please share with your friends, families, and neighbors!
There is a suggested minimum donation to cover printing costs. You will be notified when your signs are available for pickup at a Clintonville location. We may be able to deliver if you are unable to pick up.
Learn more about this project, how to order, donate, and even get involved!
Order your signs now!
2. Varied slogan yard signs available on the porch
The internet helps connect us “Resisters” across the country. Recently, we were contacted by a man in Maryland who has taken it upon himself to print and distribute a variety of yard signs. These are available on the porch at 437 Piedmont Rd. When you get there, you will see a sign with his Venmo! He is requesting donations to cover the cost of printing more signs to distribute. (There is also a cash jar there to cover our initial investment.)
Please order and grab signs today to help keep the momentum of resistance building.
This week’s Actions!
1. TELL the Commission: Fracking hands off Jockey Hollow Wildlife Area
Jockey Hollow Wildlife Area was established in 2004 and extensive efforts began to repair the land. The wildlife area was opened to the public in 2012, and is popular for hunters, fishers, hikers, and wildlife watchers. Now, an unnamed oil and gas company has submitted a “nomination” to the Oil and Gas Land Management Commission to frack 1,460 acres of Jockey Hollow Wildlife Area in Harrison County.
Tell the Oil and Gas Land Management Commission: Don’t approve fracking at Jockey Hollow Wildlife Area. Submit a comment, choose Nomination 25-DNR-0002, and submit your comment by November 13, 2025.
2. EMAIL your GOP senators
Demand a bipartisan spending deal and remind them they own this TRUMP SHUTDOWN! Republicans are still rejecting a common-sense deal to end the shutdown and reverse MAGA healthcare cuts. Let’s stay loud to show our resolve and remind the GOP it’s on them to reopen the government. Send an email quickly HERE.
3. TELL the State House Ways and Means Committee Chair to let HB186 die in Committee
HB 186 authorizes a reduction in school district property taxes affected by a millage floor that would limit increases in such taxes according to inflation and requires a corresponding adjustment in the school funding formula. An amendment has been added to remove language that would have adjusted the calculation of a school district real property valuation under the school funding system to partially offset any reductions in a district's property tax revenue as a result of the bill's tax credit. Its 9th hearing was Oct. 21.
Tell Committee Chair Bill Roemer not to give HB 186 ANY MORE hearings.
Phone: (614) 644-5085

Hello. My name is ___________________ and I live at ___________________. I am calling to ask that you give HB 186 no more hearings. There is no way to improve this bill that wouldn’t be a devastating blow to local schools and first responders. The property tax burden for Ohio residents does need attention, but this bill does not provide any long term rational solutions. Thank you.
Last cards and deadlines!
If you hurry, you can catch the last few bundles of candidate cards (Hilary Damaser for Washington Township Trustee and Tiffany DeSilva for re-election to Dublin School Board) on the porch at 437 Piedmont Rd.
Mostly, however, we want to make sure you bring back all your cards and letters ASAP so we can get them in the mail on time!
